Dr. Evgeniya Yarkova is an art historian based in Berlin with an academic background in museum collection management. Evgeniya enjoys combining her passion for art history with her commitment to contribute to historical justice in through art restitution.
Evgeniya earned her PhD in Art History from the University of Leipzig in 2021, summa cum laude, with a specialization in avant-garde art and continues to be active in academia by teaching seminars on modern and contemporary art theory at the University of Leipzig’s Faculty of Art History.
Before beginning her doctoral studies Evgeniya worked at the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. Her work there focused on provenance research, art acquisitions, exhibition planning, educational programming, and collection presentation.
In addition to her provenance research and academia work, Evgeniya also prepares for the opening of various contemporary art exhibitions.
